Educational Qualification:

1. Technician Grade I Signal

  • Suitability for PwBD: Suitable for OL, LC, DW, AAV; not suitable for LD, VI, HI, MD.
  • Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Instrumentation, or related fields from a recognized University/Institute. Alternatively, a three-year Diploma or Degree in Engineering in the mentioned fields or combinations.

2. Technician Grade III Blacksmith

  • Suitability for PwBD: Suitable for OL, LC, DW, AAV; not suitable for LD, VI, HI, but suitable for D, HH.
  • Minimum Educational Qualifications: Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trade of Forger and Heat Treater/Foundryman/Pattern Maker/Moulder (Refractory), or equivalent apprenticeship.

3. Technician Grade III Bridge

  • Suitability for PwBD: Not suitable.
  • Minimum Educational Qualifications: Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trade of Fitter/Fitter (Structural)/Welder, or equivalent apprenticeship.

As of July 1st, 2024, applicants for Technician Grade-I Signal Post must be between 18 and 33 years old. Due to this CEN (Central Employment Notice), the upper age limit is extended to 36 years old. Similarly, for Technician Grade-III, the normal course age range is 18 to 30 years old, but for this CEN, the upper limit is extended to 33 years old.

  • SC/ST: The SC/ST candidates will get 05 extra years to apply compared to the normal age limit.
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): This type of candidate will get 03 extra years to apply.
  • Ex-Servicemen: The time you served in the military is deducted from your age for calculating the limit. There’s a further benefit based on your category:
