SSC CHSL 2024 Application Fees

The application fee is Rs 100. Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM candidates do not have to pay this fee. You can pay the fee online using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or credit/debit cards like Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay. The last day to pay the fee is May 8, 2024, at 11:00 PM. If you need to pay the fee and don’t, your application will be incomplete and will not be accepted. The fee is not refundable, and you can’t use it for another exam or selection.

SSC CHSL 2024 Vacancy

There are approximately 3,712 tentative vacancies available, but the exact number will be confirmed later. Updated information on vacancies, including details specific to each post and category, will be made available on the Commission’s website and on this website.

SSC CHSL 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

1. Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade ‘A’ in specific Ministries: Candidates need to have passed 12th grade in the science stream with Mathematics from a recognized board.
2. LDC/JSA and other DEO positions (except those in the ministries specified in point 1): Candidates should have completed 12th grade from a recognized board or university.
3. Current Students: If you are still in school and have appeared for your 12th-grade exams, you can apply. However, you must have your 12th-grade pass certificate by August 1, 2024.
4. Degrees through Distance Learning: Degrees or diplomas obtained through distance learning are valid for jobs in the central government only if the program and university are recognized by the Distance Education Bureau of the University Grants Commission at the time you got your degree.
5. Specific Degree Restrictions: Degrees in engineering, medicine, dental, nursing, pharmacy, architecture, and physiotherapy cannot be obtained through distance learning, with an exception for certain engineering degrees from IGNOU up to the academic year 2009-2010 as recognized by a specific court order.
6. Document Verification: When your final results are announced, you will need to show your original educational certificates during document verification by the hiring departments. If you don’t provide these documents or if your results were not officially declared by the cut-off date, your application will be rejected.
7. Equivalent Qualifications: If your qualification is equivalent to what is required, you must provide a certificate of equivalence during document verification. However, the hiring departments will make the final decision on whether to accept this equivalent qualification.

SSC CHSL 2024 Salary

The pay for different jobs is as follows:

Lower Division Clerk (LDC) or Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) gets paid between Rs. 19,900 and Rs. 63,200, which is called Pay Level-2.

Data Entry Operators (DEO) have two levels; they can earn between Rs. 25,500 and Rs. 81,100 at Level-4, or between Rs. 29,200 and Rs. 92,300 at Level-5.

Data Entry Operators who are Grade ‘A’ also get paid in Pay Level-4, which means they earn between Rs. 25,500 and Rs. 81,100.

SSC CHSL 2024 Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years old as of August 1, 2024, meaning they should have been born between August 2, 1997, and August 1, 2006, to be eligible.

SSC CHSL 2024 Selection Process

1. Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates need to score minimum marks in different sections of the exam: 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS, and 20% for all other categories.
2. Shortlisting for Tier-II: Candidates are selected for Tier-II based on their Tier-I exam performance. Scores are normalized for fair comparison.
3. Separate Cut-offs: There might be different cut-offs for different posts and categories in Tier-I and subsequent Tiers.
4. Mandatory Participation: All candidates who qualify Tier-I must appear for Tier-II, including all sections.
5. Section-wise Evaluation: Candidates are shortlisted for Section-III of Tier-II based on their performance in Section-I and Section-II. Those who don’t qualify in Section-I + Section-II won’t proceed to Section-III.
6. Section-III Qualification: Section-III is about Computer Knowledge and Skill Test/Typing Test, which are qualifying in nature. Skill Test is compulsory for DEOs.
7. Preference Selection: Candidates need to indicate their post preferences before the final result is declared. Once submitted, preferences cannot be changed.
8. Merit List Preparation: The final selection is based on candidates’ overall performance in Tier-II and their preference of posts.
9. Final Allotment: Candidates are allotted posts based on their merit-cum-preferences. No change is allowed if they fail to meet the required standards for the allotted post.
10. Probation Period: Selected candidates are on probation for two years, during which they may undergo training or exams as required.
11. All India Service Liability: Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India.
12. Local Language Proficiency: Candidates may need to acquire proficiency in the local language of their allotted State/UT/Zone.
13. Representation for Disqualification: Candidates have two months to represent if they are disqualified for the subsequent stage of the examination.
14. Communication with Departments: If selected candidates don’t receive any correspondence within a year of the final result declaration, they should contact the concerned department.
15. Waiting List/Reserve List: The Commission doesn’t maintain a waiting list/reserve list after the final result declaration.

SSC CHSL 2024 How to Apply

1. One-Time Registration (OTR): If you haven’t already, go to the new website (https://ssc.gov.in) to generate your OTR. The old OTR from the previous website won’t work. Once you generate your OTR on the new website, it’ll be valid for all future exams. Detailed instructions for OTR are provided in Annexure-III.
2. Submitting the Application: Applications must be submitted online only through the SSC Headquarters website (https://ssc.gov.in). Detailed instructions are available in Annexure-III and Annexure-IV. Sample formats for One-Time Registration and the online Application Form are attached in Annexure-IIIA and Annexure-IVA respectively.
3. Photograph Requirements: Make sure the photograph you upload is clear, without any headwear or glasses, and with a full frontal view. Instructions for capturing the photograph are provided, such as finding a well-lit place with a plain background and positioning yourself directly in front of the camera.
4. Signature Upload: Your scanned signature should be in JPEG/JPG format, with an image dimension of about 4.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height). Blurred photographs or signatures will result in rejection of the application.
5. Deadline: The last date and time for submitting online applications is 07-05-2024 (23:00). It’s advised to submit your application well before the deadline to avoid any technical issues.
6. Early Submission: Submit your application well before the closing date to avoid any last-minute technical problems or heavy website traffic.
7. Preview: Before final submission, use the Preview/Print option to check that all details in the form are filled correctly.
8. Responsibility: The Commission won’t be responsible if you can’t submit your application due to technical issues or any other reason beyond their control.
